A forensic examination is underway following the the discovery of the body of a 6 year old boy in a car in County Waterford.
A woman remains in Garda custody following the incident close to Dunmore East.
A minor road leading to the beach at Rathmoylan Cove around 5 kilometres from the town of Dunmore East remains sealed off this afternoon.
The body of the boy was found after midnight and a woman in her late 30 was arrested at the scene.
The Office of the State Pathologist has been informed and a post mortem is due to be carried out at Waterford University Hospital today.
Gardaí say the results of the post mortem will determine the course of their investigation.
