The woman in her late 30s was pronounced dead by emergency services at Cardinal Court in Wilton after 10pm.
Gardaí arrested a man in his early 40s at the scene.
The woman’s body has been removed from the house in the past half hour and will be taken the short journey to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.
