A former bank on the South Mall is to be converted into a hotel and music venue
The building at 71 South Mall, which was a branch of National Irish Bank, already has planning permission for conversion to a 58-bed hotel.
The Irish Examiner reports that the new owner of the building, who does not wish to be identified, said his new venture will be geared towards a younger clientele and will also operate as a music venue.
It's one of five hotels in the city which, between them, will add more than 700 extra hotel beds.
