Former broadcaster Charlie Bird and around 3,000 people are taking part in charity walks on Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo today.
200 separate walks are also taking place across Ireland, the US, Australia and Spain today.
Mr Bird has motor neurone disease, and the events have raised over 1 million euro for charity.
Fr Charlie McDonnell, the administrator of Westport Parish, says there's an outpouring of support for the ex-broadcaster:
"Just to watch the reaction of people as he goes around Westport in the last few days, and indeed over the last few months, when he visited us - it really has ignited something in people. I think it's something of the determination of somebody with a terminal illness, the determination to live, the determination to fight and also the determination to do something and to leave something behind".
