Former Cork Debenhams Workers Are Staging A Vigil Outside City Hall

The last council meeting before the autumn is taking place

It's hoped the plight of the workers will be discussed this evening on what is week 14 of their protest.

Workers say they won't back down until they receive assurances that they'll be paid redundancy, following the announcement that the retail store is to close its Irish stores.

Speaking to RedFM News former worker at the Patrick St store Madeline Whelan says Debenhams need to make contact and the Government needs to intervene or the situation won't get resolved, but she says they'll continue their protest:
