There is no guarantee that the residents of the former Owenacurra mental health facility who were relocated last year will be returned to the new centre
A planning application has been lodged for a new 10 bed facility on the site of the Owenacurra Centre in Midleton
Relatives of residents at the centre mounted a public campaign for the retention of the centre after the HSE earmarked the facility for closure two years ago
Local Councillor Liam Quaide told RedFM News that some residents still face uncertainty in relation to where they will be finally located
"That is a question that remains unanswered. Some residents may have family involved others may not and the HSE will come back and say they can't disclose the details of any individual service plan. So there is no guarantee that anybody who was moved out of area will get back to Midleton and that's a huge ethical issue"
