Fota House and Gardens is warning people to be aware of fake adds for events at the venue.
Fota shared two posters on its Facebook website for "Mothers Day, Easter Food and Craft Fair" events as well as "Summer Fete and Dog show" events in April.
The venue says no such events are being held there and tickets should not be bought.
In a statement, Fota House and Gardens said:
"IMPORTANT SCAM ALERT
It has come to our attention that a Facebook account purporting to be in the name of Tim Kelly is circulating events at Fota House on April 6th & 7th as ‘Mother’s Day and Easter Food & Craft Fair’ & April 13th & 14th as “Summer Fete & Dog Show”. The poster also requesting payment from the public. Please note this is a HOAX and FRADULENT as no such events are being held and no payments should be made for these events.
We will be hosting our Easter Egg hunt on Saturday 30th March – Monday April 1st and our annual Plant Fair on Sunday 14th April so please follow official Fota House social media channels for more information on these events."
