The absence of the Northern Ring Road is becoming increasingly evident amid road safety concerns in many nearby residential areas.
That's according to Cllr Tony Fitzgerald who says while the planned infrastructure is a priority for Government it will take time and motorists must slow down when driving through residential areas.
It follows a demonstration in Killard recently where residents voiced their frustrations about the speed at which traffic is travelling through the area.
Elsewhere a demonstration is taking place tomorrow on Kilmore Road where Knocknaheeny residents are calling for traffic calming measures to be implemented following a number of tragic incidents as recently as Tuesday when a six-year-old boy was knocked down on Harbour View Road.
