The green light has been given for the upgrade of some East Corks piers and harbour areas.
€394,500 has been allocated by the Government to carry out essential works in the area.
Ballycotton Pier will benefit from the funding with various works including an upgrade of water distribution systems.
Funding will also be allocated to Youghal Harbour for improvement works there.
The works are expected to commence immediately in advance of the tourism season.
