Funding is critical for a huge roads and bridges repair programme in Cork following damage caused by Storm Babet
Cork County Council has examined 300 locations across the county where road and infrastructure repair is needed
Engineers estimate the repair bill will hit the €50 million but just €13 million has been allocated this year
Niall Healy, Director of Roads and Transportation with the County Council, told RedFM News that local politicians are keeping the pressure on Government to secure further funding
"Through the elected representatives we're aware that there has been lobbying by elected members and local politicians in terms of encouraging Government to put the necessary funding in place. We are working on the basis that we have a programme in place, that we're geared up to delivering that programme, but the key issue, of course, remains that of funding"
