A funeral Mass will take place this morning to remember a mother from Douglas who died in a road accident on Friday evening.
Gillian Daly lost her life after the car which was carrying herself and two children, entered the River Lee at Kennedy Quay shortly after 8pm.
The children - two sons aged 10 and 12 - were able to escape the car and were rescued by onlookers before being taken to Cork University Hospital, where they were treated for shock.
44-year-old Gillian was originally from north Cork but had been living with her husband and two sons in Douglas for several years.
Her requiem Mass will take place this morning at St Patrick's Church, Millstreet, at 11 o'clock.
She will be laid to rest in St Eltin's Cemetery, Kinsale, where some of her family live.
