A further feasibility study is to be undertaken on the proposed new greenway between Mallow and Dungarvan.
The original rail line which closed in 1967 is now 90% privately owned and much of the land is being farmed.
The area for the greenway is now being widened with farmers along the route raising their concerns around it cutting through active farm land.
Cleona O'Shea, whose family farm is along the route told, RedFM News there seems to be a determination to go ahead with the plan no matter what the impact:
"Oh, I think it's very much they want a greenway and they don't care how they're going to get it; they're going to have it. They've done their feasibility study, they've discovered to have no route, but instead of saying it's not feasible, they said they're going to broaden the search area."
