The future of the Marina Market remains unclear.
An appeal lodged by CPR Properties Cork Limited over a refused retention planning application has been classed as invalid.
The firm were seeking permission to maintain their use of the site as a market and food emporium with a further request to expand the market to create an event space as well as a coffee roastery and a health and lifestyle store.
The plans were turned down by the City Council last November as it considered the road infrastructure on Kennedy Quay to be insufficient for the existing and proposed use.
The Echo reports that CPR Properties Cork Limited subsequently lodged an appeal with An Bord Pleanála but that appeal has since been marked as invalid.
