It began yesterday and will run until 7am on Tuesday.

113 people have died in crashes so far this year, including 13 on Cork Roads

Bank holidays tend to be the most dangerous time to use the roads.

Chief Superintendent Jane Humphries from the Garda Roads Policing Unit is warning people not to drive after drinking or using drugs:

"Even though there will be a concentration during this weekend, people will be caught, because on average, we do arrest right throughout the year, one person every hour for driving well under the influence of either drink or drugs."
