Gardaí say the death of a man in unexplained circumstances in Mallow yesterday "appears to be a tragic accident"
The man was found at the foot of a stairwell at an apartment complex in the North Cork town by another resident yesterday evening.
They do not suspect foul play.
It's believed the man, aged in his 50s, worked locally in the hospitality sector - and is well-known in the area.
State Pathologist Margot Bolster carried out a post-mortem at Cork University Hospital this evening.
A file will now be being prepared for the coroner.
