A Garda review has been launched into the way the force handle concerns from the public about gun owners.
It was one of the recommendations from the jury at the inquest into the murder-suicide of Tadg, Diarmiud and Mark O'Sullivan in Kanturk, in North Cork last year.
The inquest found 60 year old Tagh and 23 year old Diarmuid took their own lives after unlawfully killing 26 year old Mark last October.
The jury heard a relative had contacted Gardai concerned about the safety of Mark and his mother Anne.
