Gardaí appealing for witnesses to Carr's Hill collision

Gardai are appealing for information after a woman in her 30's was critically injured following a two car collision near Mount Oval yesterday morning.

The collision happened on the N28 at Carrs Hill at around 10am.

The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was assessed at the scene but did not require immediate hospital treatment.

The scene has been technically examined and the road has fully reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Gardaí told RedFM News:

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision on the N28 in Cork City, on Wednesday, 16th October 2024.

Shortly after 10am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a two-car collision on the N28 at Carrs Hill, Mount Oval.

The driver of one of the cars, a woman in her late 30s, was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital. Her condition is understood to be critical. The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was assessed at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment.

The scene has been technically examined and the road has fully reopened. All traffic diversions have now been lifted.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also requesting road users with camera footage, including dashcam video, from the area at the time of the collision to make it available to assist with their investigation.
