It happened yesterday evening
A 21-year-old man, named locally as Stephen O'Callaghan, was killed after his scrambler collided with a tree in a woodland area of the North Cork town.
Gardai and emergency services attended the scene shortly after 8pm, where the man was pronounced dead.
His body was removed to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem is due to be be carried out.
