Gardaí are at the scene of a hit and run in Ballyvolane.
A car hit a pedestrian on the North Ring Road just after 7 o'clock this morning.
Gardaí say the driver of the car failed to remain at the scene while the pedestrian who was hit, a woman in her 30's, was taken to CUH to be treated for non life threatening injuries.
The road is closed for a technical examination and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Gardaí told RedFM News:
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic incident involving a car and a pedestrian, that occurred at the North Ring Road, Cork City, on Monday 20th January 2025, at approximately 7.05am.
The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene.
The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 30’s, was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area between 6.40am and 7.10am this morning, Monday 20th January 2025, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
