Gardaí carried out searches in four counties including Cork yesterday as part of ongoing operations to combat the activities of the New IRA.
The searches in Cork, Kerry, Laois and Dublin, Laois in support of an operation led by the Police Service of Northern Ireland and were carried out by members of the Special Detective Unit, local Gardai and the Armed Support Unit.
Garda Press say they will not be commenting further at this time.
It follows the arrest of a number of people in the North yesterday in connection with investigations into New IRA activity.
