The Gardaí's St. Bridget's Bank Holiday Road Safety Campaign has ended with over a thousand caught speeding across the country.
One motorist was clocked driving at 157km/h in a 100 kilometre zone in Mallow while 9 people in Cork have been arrested for drink driving.
Meanwhile, Gardaí detected 54 distracted drivers in Cork with the unmarked Garda HGV leading up to the Bank Holiday weekend.
The lorry cab which targets distracted driving was used across the city and county with one woman fined for using two phones while driving.
Paula Hilman, Assistant Garda Commissioner for Roads Policing says they will continue to work towards improving road safety enforcement:
"We are continually looking at how and what we need to do to tackle those people who still involve themselves in risky behaviors on the road. so a combination of this fleet resource, the continued roll out of technology for the safety cameras as well. So our focus, even throughout the year, will be continuing to work in partnership with Government and with the Road Safety Authority to introduce those transformational actions that will increase road safety."
