Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to crash that claimed the life of a person in Tivoli yesterday

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a crash that claimed the life of a person in Tivoli yesterday.

The crash happened yesterday morning around 7am on the outbound lane on the Lower Glanmire Road.

Forensic Collision Investigators are looking into the single vehicle crash.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage to come forward.

In a statement to RedFM News yesterday, Gardaí said:

Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred shortly before 7am on Monday 18th March 2024 on the outbound lane on the Lower Glanmire Road (N8) in Tivoli, Cork City. One person, the sole occupant of the only car involved in this collision, has been pronounced deceased. The services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested and an examination of the scene will be carried out. The Lower Glanmire Road (N8) at Tivoli is currently closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed for a number of hours. Local diversions are in place.  
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Lower Glanmire Road (N8) between 6:30am and 7am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021 4558510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
