A yellow weather warning for rain is in place for Cork until 6pm this evening
Motorists are being asked to slow down and expect spot floods and surface water on all routes.
The M8 Southbound remains closed at Junction 15 Fermoy this morning for resurfacing works following a truck fire yesterday and traffic is being diverted onto the old road at Corrin.
Emergency services are at the scene of a single vehicle collision on the M8 Northbound between Junction 12 and Junction 13 in Mitchelstown.
Drivers are being asked to slow down on approach due to debris on the road.
