Gardaí in Cork seized over 20-thousand euro worth of suspected cannabis and 8-thousand of suspected cocaine in two separate operations yesterday evening.
Both investigations were part of Operation Tara which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.
"Shortly after 5 o'clock yesterday evening, members of the Garda Serious Crime and Drugs Units searched a house in Gurranabraher.
There, they found suspected cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €20,000 and €7,000 euro in cash.
They also seized other items including mobile phones and electronic scales.
A man in aged in his late 20s was arrested and is currently detained under Drugs Trafficking Act at Gurranabraher station, where he can be held for up to seven days.
Then, a few hours later, just before 8 o'clock, members of the Cork Divisional Drugs and local Drugs Units searched another house in the Gurranabraher area.
They seized suspected cocaine worth more than of €8,000, and €4,000 in cash.
A man in his late 30s was arrested and is also being detained at Gurranabraher station.
All the drugs seized will now be sent for to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
