Officers were alerted to an incident in which a number of people allegedly assaulted a man in his 50s shortly after midnight.
The man was taken to CUH for treatment and two people were arrested- an adult who was later released and a teenager who will be processed under the Juvenile Diversion Programme.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
