Gardaí investigating three separate road accidents in Cork that left several people in hospital over weekend

One incident left a young boy in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a car while cycling in Carrigaline on Saturday morning.

The boy was taken to Cork University Hospital and then transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

Elsewhere, a car collided with a motorcyclist in Letterlickey on Saturday morning at around 10.30am.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to CUH to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries while the passenger of the motorcycle - a woman in her 60s was treated for minor injuries.

Meanwhile a pedestrian was hit by a van on Shandon street on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency Services arrived at the scene and took a woman in her 50s to CUH where she was treated for minor injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to any of the incidents to contact them.
