Gardaí have issued a witness appeal following a road traffic collision in West Cork which has left a young man in a serious condition in hospital.
Bandon Gardai attended the scene of the single vehicle crash on the R586 Dunmanway road near Enniskeane shortly after midnight.
The vehicle left the road and hit trees and foliage and the young driver, a 19 year-old man was removed from the scene and taken to Cork University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The road is currently being examined by the Collision Forensic Investigators and remains closed at this time and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and they've also appealed to any road user on the Bandon to Enniskeane road between midnight and 12.30am who may have dash-cam footage to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
