Gardai are questioning a teenager following a number of incidents on Main Street Carrigaline on Saturday night.
Gardaí attended the scene and in the course of making an arrest, three Garda members were obstructed both physically and verbally.
During these incidents a 16 year old was assaulted by a number of youths.
He managed to escape and return home where he was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
In a statement issued to RedFM News this morning, Gardai says a 16 year old was arrested yesterday afternoon and he is currently being detained.
Investigations are ongoing.
