Gardaí have ruled out foul play in the death of a man found unconscious in a Mahon housing estate yesterday morning.
The 43 year old was later pronounced dead in hospital.
The man, originally from the Northside, was found lying unconscious in a cul-de-sac at Ballinsheen Court in Mahon at around half-past-eight yesterday morning.
He was rushed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Even though the man had no obvious injuries, it's understood Garda suspicions were raised because a bag of money was found near him and his clothing was not properly in place.
Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margaret Bolster carried out a post-mortem on the man's remains at CUH yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí have not released the results of the post-mortem, but it's understood that they are satisfied the death was not suspicious.
Gardaí are now trying to establish when the deceased man was last seen alive-and-well for an inquest at Cork City Coroner's Court.
