Emergency services attended the scene at the Ashbourne Direct Provision Centre in Glounthane at 8pm on Friday.
The body of the woman in her 50s, which it's understood was not discovered for several days. was removed to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem.
Gardaí say there are no reports of any foul play.
The Abolish Direct Provision group say the woman had been reported missing by her family on the previous Saturday.
