Gardaí say a new Community Policing Van in the city will help combat anti-social behaviour.
The van will be parked on rotation at Winthrop Street, Grand Parade and Patrick’s Street so the public can engage with Gardaí.
There is also CCTV in the van which will further assist Gardaí in investigations.

Speaking to RedFM News, Inspector James Hallahan says the van will increase Garda presence and response to incidents:
"Well a visible presence of Gardaí in the city will proactively deal with that, the van itself is a visible presence. So the fact that there's a Garda here with the van the whole time and he/she can then interact with other Gardaí which will increase our proactive presence and response."
