A driver in Cork was clocked travelling 48 kilometers over the speed limit yesterday.
Gardaí detected the motorist travelling 148 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometre zone on the N71 Waterfall to Cork road.
Elsewhere a driver was caust doing 140 Kilometres an hour in a 120 zone on the M8 at Ballinglanna North.
It comes as 524 drivers were caught speeding by Gardaí on the country's roads yesterday.
Officers says they speed-checked 98,184 vehicles yesterday, as part of the October Bank Holiday weekend road safety operation.
