Mother-of-two Gillian Daly has been remembered as a "vibrant" young woman who was in the "prime of her life".
The 44 year old died when the car she was driving fell into the River Lee on Friday evening.
Two children aged 10 and 12, escaped and were rescued by onlookers.
Gillian's funeral mass has been taking place in Millstreet this morning, before being laid to rest in Kinsale this afternoon.
Celebrant Fr John Fitzgerald says Gillian touched the lives of everyone she met:
"Somebody who has been so much part of our lives, and especially, of course a person so young and vibrant as Gillian, who was in the prime of her life, and had so much to live for. Everybody who knew Gillian thought very highly of her as a wife, as a mother, as a teacher, and as a friend."
