A global climate strike is underway on the quad at UCC.
It’s part of the international movement where secondary school students skip classes to demand action from Government to prevent climate change.
Eva Bresnihan from Fridays Future Cork explains why she skipped school to protest today:
"Ireland declared a climate emergency 6 years ago and we have still not seen any big changes. Our demand for Fridays For Future, we want Ireland to participate and join the fossil fuel non-proliferation treaty. And we want a complete transition to 100% renewable energy in Ireland."
