The family of the 36 year old woman who died from her injuries after she was assaulted at a soup run in the city have set up a Go Fund Me to help pay for her funeral.
Vanessa O'Callaghan, a mother of three from the Middle Parish was attacked on the 1st of December and died three days later at CUH.
Investigating Gardaí are continuing to appeal to the public for any information on the assault which happened on Patrick's Street at around 7.30pm.
Speaking to RedFM News, Vanessa's niece, Shelly O'Callaghan says the family weren't prepared for Vanessa's death:
"It happened so suddenly, we just didn't expect it. When you're not expecting it, you don't have the funds straight away. It is Christmas week we do understand that completely, but even just a euro or two would help us a lot."
