A GoFundMe page in memory of a young man who was tragically killed in a road traffic accident near Ballymaquirk has raised almost 30,000 euro for charity.
Rory O'Connor from Banteer died on the 6th of February 2011 when he was just 19.
The fundraiser was set up by his parents, Bernie and Pat, to mark what would have been his 30th birthday earlier this week.
The money raised will go to the Irish Community Air Ambulance, which is based in Rathcoole.
Their initial target of 2,000 euro was reached within 2 hours.
The O’Connor family also ran a fundraiser to mark Rory’s 21st birthday when they raised over €25,000 for Build4Life after they held a table quiz.
