The Golfgate trial is due to open before Galway District Court soon.
The court has just taken a short break to allow the legal teams to deal with some “logistical” issues first.
Independent TD Noel Grealish and former Fianna Fáil Senator Donie Cassidy are accused of breaching a lockdown regulation in August 2020.
They’re alleged to have organised an event at the Station House Hotel in Clifden, which is said to have broken strict Covid rules that were in place at the time.
The owner of the hotel, John Sweeney, and his son James, who is the General Manager, face the same accusation.
