The owner of a bakery in Blackpool which has been extensively damaged by fire says it will be closed for the foreseeable future.
Healy’s Bakery was engulfed in a blaze early yesterday morning.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire which also caused smoke and flood damage to surrounding buildings.
Speaking to RedFM News, owner of Healy’s Bakery, Rachel Healy says the amount of damage done to her business is devastating:
"Food production has to be absolutely sterile, and, you know, immaculate and everything. No, you couldn't. no, there's nothing can be saved in there no. We'll get there, we'll sort it out. It'll come around again. but it's just, I'm heartbroken, just devastated."
In a statement to RedFM News this morning, Gardaí said:
"Following a technical examination the incident is now being investigated as case of suspected criminal damage. Inquiries are ongoing."
