There was heartbreak for GAA supporters yesterday.
Clare defeated Cork in a at Croke Park yesterday to claim the 2024 All-Ireland Senior Men's Hurling Championship.
In a dramatic game which brought the sides to extra time, Clare won 3-29 to 1-34.
County Mayor Joe Carroll says Cork people are magnanimous in defeat:
"And they've done something very special. They had that game won, and then they had it nearly lost, and it was very hard, they had to win a game twice in the one day where they did it. They did that. You know, they want a better team of the day. I think."
