Storm Lilian has been named by weather forecasters in the UK.
It will impact Ireland overnight and Met Éireann has issued two status yellow warnings.
The first affects the middle of the country and begins at 10pm, the second begins at midnight and affects the southern half of Ireland.
High tide in the city is at 8.30pm and is expected to lead to some pooling in low lying city streets and quays
Brandon Creagh from Met Éireann says that the southern half of the country can expect the strongest winds.
