High cost of bills cause severe stress to primary school principals

The high cost of bills are causing severe stress to primary school principals.

The principal of a 245 pupil school in Milstreet says she's in constant fear of running out of money.

Primary schools get given €200 per pupil per year for energy costs while its €400 per pupil in secondary schools.

Speaking to RedFM News, Principal of Presentation National School in Milstreet Siobhan Buckley says her biggest worries are surrounding the bills:

"It's very, very stressful, genuinely. It is, you know, and I'd be a pretty chilled out person you know but I just had this awful, fear of running out of money, you know, and things like that, that shouldn't be the case. My job is to be principal of the school, and to make sure that everybody is safe, happy, and educated but my my biggest worries are the bills."
