Hoteliers have warned of the serious risk to tourism posed by the Aer Lingus Dispute
The Irish Hotels Federation says the disruption will have worrying implications for business levels and Ireland’s reputation as a holiday destination.
270 flights have been cancelled as members of IALPA begin an indefinite work to rule in a row over pay.
Hotels are already experiencing cancellations as guest change their holiday plans and fears are high that this pattern of cancellations will escalate over the coming days
Speaking to RedFM News Fergal Harte of the Kingsley Hotel says if the action continues it will have a knock on effect on future bookings
"In a lot of cases now people are booking within short windows and short lead times. It's that fear obviously that they can't go ahead with their plans if they're concerned that their travel will be disrupted and that has a longer term impact then on the summer months for hotels, which obviously is such an important time of the year for hotels as well"
