Another report is showing that house prices are rising even faster than in recent years.
DNG's National Price Gauge shows the price growth in the South West was 4 point 8 per cent in the past year - with the average house price just under 330 thousand euro.
Analysis shows second hand homes outside of Dublin rose by 6.8% in the past year, double the increase on the previous year.
DNG Group Director of Research Paul Murgatroyd says its a lack of supply that's behind it:
"So the annual rate of inflation nationally is increasing with each passing quarter. National prices and Dublin market prices are rising at about the same rate at the moment, and that's due to the strength of demand and the lack of supply in the resale property market".
