Clerical staff are staging a series of lunchtime protests today and tomorrow over a HSE moratorium on recruitment.
They're taking action at various HSE sites across the country, demanding HSE bosses '#EndTheFreeze'.
Staff at Cork University Hospital will stage a demonstration outside the hospital at lunchtime tomorrow
Ashley Connolly from the Fórsa trade union, says it makes no sense to halt recruitment as the health services enter into the challenging mid-winter period.
"For the last number of months as people have been leaving the organisation, they have not been replaced. And to put that in context from a clerical admin perspective, these are the people that check you in. The members who are behind the A&E desk, the radiology, they're in oncology. They're in all the key departments and when they're not being replaced, it means there is nobody there to do administrative tasks."
