The latest easing of restrictions has created a huge demand for package holidays and resulted in a large number of jobs in the tourism sector.
That's according to a travel agent in the city centre who says they have seen a large increase in people booking holidays to popular destinations like Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands.
The tourism sector employed thousands in Cork before the pandemic, however many were forced to seek work elsewhere when international travel was effectively stopped.
Speaking to RedFM News, Tom Randles from Barter's Travelnet says now is a great time for anyone thinking of working in the tourism sector.
"The demand we're seeing for our business right now, we're actually taking on another person starting on the first of February, and we're proactively looking for another member to join the team because we can only see it getting better over the next few months.
"It's difficult, as in our industry a lot of people who may have been laid off have gone off to do different things, and may be reluctant to get back into it.
"We may be looking at starting again with trainees, but we're well used to that."
