8,000 homes and businesses are still without power this morning in the aftermath of Storm Barra, including hundreds across Cork.
The majority of those affected are along Atlantic coastal counties and in the south-east, with ESB crews working into the night to restore power.
A number of boil water notices are also in place in parts of the west due to treatment issues caused by the storm.
Meanwhile many schools are reopening today following storm enforced closures.
Spokesperson for ESB Networks, Siobhan Wynne, says its teams are mobilising again this morning.
"Crews have been working late into the night. They're now mobilising again to go out and continue with the repair work."
