A nursing union has warned that discharge rates from Cork hospitals are not high enough to cope with the level of admissions
The INMO's comments come as hospital emergency departments across Cork are continuing to feel the pressure as trolley figures are on the rise again
Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded hospital in the country today with 88 patients being treated on trolleys at the facility
The Mercy University Hospital is also recording higher than usual numbers on trolleys with 28 on trolleys at the city centre hospital
The HSE had asked people to consider all other options available to them as the hospital system faces renewed pressure.
