22 year old Conor King from Douglas died on the 24th of April 2021 and was buried on what would have been his 23rd birthday.
Assistant state pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster said Conor's death was immediate and he would not have suffered.
Conor's mother Maura paid tribute to his friends who made heroic efforts to save him when he fell into a blowhole at around 11:30pm while camping with friends.
She thanked Conor's friends and asked them to remember the beautiful days they had with Conor.
Conor's father Eamonn also recognised how good Conor's friends had been to him.
The court heard that Conor's friend Gary Barrett- a trained lifeguard- immediately and bravely swam into the blowhole through an opening and administered CPR and cradled Conor to stop the waves from hitting him.
Coroner Frank O'Connell recorded a verdict of accidental death and said he would write to Cork County Council to ask if it was possible to set up a danger sign or to fence off the blowhole.
