Ireland may be set for its hottest day ever with a very sunny weekend in store.
The mercury topped 31.7°C in Oak Park in Carlow yesterday.
A status yellow high temperature warning remains in place until 6 o'clock on Monday morning.
Meteorologist Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel, says temperatures could reach 32°C, in some parts of the country.
"We certainly are expecting similar conditions for today. There's a possibility that yesterday's record could actually be surpassed again today. As we've seen with this heatwave, conditions seem to build on each day and certainly that is the case today. We could expect to see temperatures possibly reaching as high as 32°C in some parts of the country".
