The studio based at 5 Fr Mathew St has 5 artists in residence and one guest who on the 29th April they are supporting AsIAm and encouraging their clients to have a tattoo and support AsIAm.
AsIAm continues to support Autistic people and their families all over Ireland and strive to ensure that we all receive the same chance. With an increase of 300% in demand since the start of the pandemic for the charities range of supports and services the need to generate income is now paramount. In Cork City and county alone there are approximately 8350 people on the Autism Spectrum with over 33400 family members having autism in their lives.
The fundraiser is the brainchild of Jake Stahlecker, Manager of Black Poppy Tattoo Parlour.
“The Black Poopy has had several charity tattoo events since it opened in March of 2020, despite the many lockdowns and setbacks. We are proud to be able to donate 50% of all proceeds during the charity event to AsIAm, and hope that our efforts and contribution can make a difference in the lives of those around us with autism”.
Commenting, Adam Harris CEO AsIAm “Autistic people simply want the same chance to go to school, access healthcare services, gain employment and to be accepted in the community for who we are. Our work in AsIAm is driven to support Autistic people and to ensure that everyone is given the same chance. By supporting this great initiative of Jake and his team you can support our work that all Autistic people get the same chance”.
75% of all income generated has to be sourced from individuals, community and Business that is why support for initiatives such as this is so important.
Dick White, Fundraising Manager noted – “AsIAm is seeking support for our work – there are a variety of ways to help AsIAm in what we do. This unique challenge of 20 for 22 is only one such an initiative and we would like to thank the staff and family of Black Poppy Tattoo Parlour for this wonderful effort.”
